The goal here at Cutting Edge Functional Training is to establish "Structural Integrity" in peoples lives.

Structural Integration is a state of consistent engagement with your movement, not an end-result that, once achieved, makes you feel fine forever. While moving coherently comes with immediate and abundant benefits – from improved stability and injury resistance to feeling at home in your body – the process of structural integration through motion is a lifetime commitment to yourself

Move with purpose:

We want everyone to feel like an athlete: to feel strong, agile, coordinated and confident. That's what it's all about! Improving yourself as a human being is more than just looking good; it's living a life where movement almost feels effortless, free of constraints. Movement should eliminate the pains, not add to them.

What about my goals?

Listen: there are things we seek in training that we want, and there are things in training that we need, and what we all need to be is strong-functioning human beings , both in mind and body; once we obtain that, you will learn quickly that what you want is not that appealing anymore.

What about losing weight?

Losing weight is a by-product of a strong, well-rounded training program, focusing your efforts on improving your movement , and weight loss should follow thereafter.

The truth is that exercise is not the most effective way to lose weight directly. Yes, Building muscle does help improve one's metabolism marginally but what exercise is truly good for is our mental health and our resiliency towards stress and that in and of itself is important to helping someone lose weight. 

What about nutrition?

Yes, I provide nutritional coaching if necessary; I can help guide you and educate you on how to understand and create a solution to build a healthy, nutritional lifestyle.

We must learn to prioritize the quality of the foods we consume, build on the discipline to stay on track and direct you to a lifestyle of eating that brings you joy, energy and nourishment. Thriving is the key word here and your diet should not be depriving you of energy and this endless cycle of stress. Your diet is not about "calorie" counting or eating less and moving more. 

 

It is about improving your appetite, avoiding poor quality foods while prioritizing nourishing foods.
